Rules
Thanks a lot for checking out the rules/OOC for this Mass Effect character of mine .
I do not really have many 'rules', I rather see them as info/guidelines at best, but here come the meaty bits:_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________I, the writer am 21+, SF- &- ME fan since my childhood, generally chilled, and I RP as a creative outlet and fun hobby among many other things.~~~~~~~~~~This particular character is explicitly a slow burner and semi-private, meaning, I will keep the number of people I follow(-back) strategically low. As stated in the Bluesky bio, I mostly brought her back for my other half, since he enjoys her character, bur I'm still happy to interact with other people here once every blue moon.~~~~~~~~~~I usually go by general RP etiquette, meaning no powerplay, metagame, forced sips or killing of my character(s) without planning/mutual agreement.~~~~~~~~~~I’m fine with all sorts of topics, from comedy to drama to dark stuff, with the exception of anything revolving around SA.~~~~~~~~~~My preferred method of initiating RPs are sending or liking/answering starter calls.
I may also occasionally write and/or respond to your guy's starters.~~~~~~~~~~Shipping is not my number one priority, but I'm nevertheless generally cool with out characters developing ships, assuming we have writing chemistry.~~~~~~~~~~Although of age I am not looking for any smut, (- at least not without proper IC and OOC development between our characters and proper discussion between us muns.) hence I will not follow (-back) any primarily lewd focused accounts.
I might block some of them (especially things to do with Furries & MLP) to keep my TL calm, but this is entirely to curate my own feed and has is never anything personal and/or me judging your preferences. Live and let live!

PERSONALITY and BACKGROUND:Preeya is a noticeably calm, level-headed and seemingly introverted nature. Throughout most of her life she made little to no outright impression aside from her work - nowadays mainly in the field of theoretical and stellar physics.
Her personal fields of interest lie in stellar- nucleosynthesis and evolution.
But even at a young age she was mostly content when left to do what she enjoyed: Satisfying her curiosity. From an early age she had difficulties to adapt - at least according to most of her peers, with the main issue being her emotionally reserved, pragmatic way of sensing, seeing and solving the things around her - including social interactions (which expectedly did/does not go too well).Considering changing either herself or making others understand her to be a fruitless waste of her time, she grew up burying herself in her study, pilgrimage, and later her academic work.
Only ever the first attack on the Citadel, the looming threat of the Reapers and the subsequent obvious necessity to team up with others made her come out of her shell - one little bit at a time. And while serving aboard various starships throughout the war/s, she still did/does see herself as a mere scientific collaborator.
As a matter of fact, Preeya is one of the few Flotilla- and Alliance associates to declare and uphold their pacifist views to the very end: The semi-peaceful return of the Quarian people to Rannoch.Being called ‘home’ together with the rest of the surviving Quarians, Preeya - with limited enthusiasm - settled on Rannoch as well, where she joined the Rannochian Corps of Scientists under the new Banner of Quarians and Geth alike, as well as their provisional government. Her current task is the investigation of the various cases of rapid stellar ageing - a field she thoroughly enjoys.
Yet also in her free time she finds a never ending chain of ways to entertain herself - mostly via extensive use of extranet media.*

TRIVIA:
____________________________Due her difficulties to sense other people’s emotions/motivations, Preeya easily gets mistaken for being non-caring, which is far away from truth.~~~~~~~~~~She refused to participate the Flotilla’s attack on the Geth fleet to retake Rannoch because she considered such an act to be morally wrong. She indeed is a rather pacifist person and would only use violence to protect someone from danger in progress.~~~~~~~~~~She grew very fond of children, and gets along with them surprisingly well, much to her own confusion.~~~~~~~~~~Grown up on the Flotilla she actually prefers life aboard starships and space stations over living on a planet.~~~~~~~~~~Even judged by Quarian standards her immune system (as well as Preeya's physical constitution in general) is fragile and vulnerable, as it is like amongst all members of her family.~~~~~~~~~~During the first attack on the Citadel Preeya has been heavily injured and almost lost her left leg. Also is she unable to have children of her own ever since.
During the following emergency operation she almost died, which is the reason she currently walks with one stiff knee joint and has to use a walking cane most of the time, since she considers a second surgery to get herself a fully functioning prosthetic to be too risky for now.~~~~~~~~~~Her Enviro-suit is a rather older, and more unisex model, basically held in black and copper colours, with red appliques.~~~~~~~~~~Even though being small, fragile and physically disabled, Preeya has very quick reflexes, making her a fantastic Ping-pong-player and gamer. Playing holovid games is actually one of her biggest (non-work-related) hobbies.~~~~~~~~~~She loves old science fiction novels and shows. She adores people like Jules Verne and Arthur C. Clarke and her personal favourite quote is "To boldly go where no one has gone before."~~~~~~~~~~Like many Quarians Preeya seems to lack the ability to recognize faces. As most Quarians these days she entirely relies to her helmet-HUDs' ID tags. Yet in Preeya's case it's not for reasons of comfort. If someone does not use ID-Tags she keeps them in mind by remembering their voices, circumstances of meeting, details like facial markings or clothing, and most important of all: By their (told) names.~~~~~~~~~~Another trait she shares with many Quarians is, that Preeya does not feel comfortable in utter silence. To be more specific: Silence makes her nervous and even can cause her to panic when being subjected to for longer times. (Which makes sense keeping in mind that most Quarians grow up in an environment where the lack of machinery sounds indicates a possible emergency situation - at best...) To prevent feeling uncomfortable she constantly listens to music or news feeds over the internal speakers of her helmet, when not having someone to actually talk to.

ME1:
Overload, HackingME2:
Overload, AI Hacking, Combat DroneME3:
Overload, Sabotage, Combat Drone, Sentry Turret.Considering the character’s outspoken pacifism, her combat mechanics are slightly different from most other squadmates.
She comes with only light weaponry, and by default will rely on abilities such as hacking and overloading - essentially non-lethal takedowns - but she is also versed with pistols if need arises.
She has no secondary or tertiary weaponry, but can dual wield (hence do twice the DPS) any pistols.
Just as the utilisation of OmniGel in ME1, Preeya as a squad mate can be tasked to bypass and hack obstacles (three per mission), saving Shepard time, OmniGel and attempts. She will succeed by default, yet at the cost of Shepard not gaining XP per bypass/hack.______________________________________________________________________________________
ME1 Recruiting mission:She can be found and recruited on Noveria, where she comes with a mini quest.
She will be one of the various people Shepard can speak to on the main level, where she can be asked about the passing Matriarch yet will not initially share info but merely respond with “I must go.”
Throughout a later stage when breaking into Synthetic Insights to retrieve Qui’in’s data, she can be found in one of the adjacent offices ‘retrieving her own data’. If Shepard and their squad confront her, she will reluctantly explain that she needs to find and purge vital data that one of the local employees intercepted from her.
Upon closer investigation she will explain that she and her team had been entrusted with classified Flotilla intel and that the project she is involved with - as ‘entertaining’ as it may be for mundane human AI training - is ultimately of little strategical use to them, yet on the other hand of potentially vital value to the Flotilla.
If Shepard agrees to assist her they have the opportunity to access more office spaces and search through more terminal entries which will open up a couple of new planet locations worth investigating, yet will also spawn a handful of assault drones on their way through the office complex.
Eventually finding what they are looking for in an office assigned to a Janet Harvey, Preeya can purge the data and - in exchange for the fire protection - she will offer to further assist Shepard and even generate a fake Garage Pass for Shepard as an optional, faster workaround through the mission.
From this point on, she will be a selectable squad member.
Should Shepard chose to keep her along for the further mission, she will then accompany them to Peak 15, where she can be used to repair the VI and grant access without Shepard spending OmniGel, yet at the cost of XP.
Janet Harvey can be found and confronted in port Hanshan after concluding Peak 15, where Shepard can either request or demand compensation - each with a respective speech check - for her obvious data theft.
She will yield, proclaiming that ultimately Synthetic Insights can not afford bad press in connection with the Quarian Flotilla.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ME 2Preeya can be recruited very early on in the game.
She will be a member of Tali’s landing party investigating Freedom’s Progress.
Just as Shepard can ask Tali to join, they will have a similar prompt with Preeya, who - unlike her predecessor - will agree under the condition that Shepard assists finding ‘one of her peers’.
She will remain in audio contact with Shepard throughout most of the mission, yet eventually join them in the fight against the YMIR and lend Shepard her abilities as a temporary third.
Afterwards, her peer in question will turn out to be Veetor’Nara, and upon finding him alive Preeya will join the scene and tend to his well being.
Should Shepard send Veetor to Cerberus, Preeya will only reluctantly join them, stating that she is disappointed in their priorities and that she only comes along because she already assured she would beforehand.
Upon being brought aboard, Preeya and Miranda will state their mild distrust towards one another’s affiliation, yet ultimately agree to cooperate in the interest of the mission.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ME 2If she survived the suicide mission of the last game - she can be found throughout the Grissom Academy mission being mentioned as one of the Academy’s instructors.
Upon arrival Shepard will find the station purposely quarantined by Preeya, who has taken over the security systems trying to stall the Cerberus invasion for as long as possible to give the students and other surviving staff enough time to escape.
Throughout the majority of the mission, she will be a voice over Shepard’s com, telling them where to safely go and which routes to avoid.
If Jack was recruited and survived the last game too, both, her and Preeya can be heard having a strange conversation about Catastrophe being where Shepard is and how old times just warmed up again.
During the final confrontation, Preeya can be seen with Jack and her students in the security office, while Preeya’s drone will accompany Shepard in their fight against Cerberus troops.
Upon victory, she can be asked to join the Normandy, which Preeya will accept.
Should Preeya have been Shepard’s squad member throughout any of the Overlord DLC missions in ME2, she will further have dialogue with David Archer with both cryptically agreeing to stay safe and catch up with one another later.
Upon joining the Normandy, Preeya will assume one of the side consoles in the War Room, and begin her work - only to be interrupted by… Basically any new squad member, message, observation or incoming priority mission.______________________________________________________________________________________
Usual placement aboard the Normandy/your shipME1Preeya will be in the Comm Room and - if applicable - inform Shepard of waiting or incoming messages..
In cutscenes of Shepard speaking with the council, she can be seen working in the background.
.
ME2Preeya will join Mordin in the Tech Lab where she will be sitting in a chair on the far back of the room with a newly placed desk overlooking the drive core, as well as a holographic sphere simulating the current system the ship is located in.
Upon entering the Lab Shepard can hear both having frequent conversations.
By default they will provide scientific comedy relief in the form of discussing in-universe oddities via extensive technobabble before having to ‘force themself’ to explain the said in ‘soldier friendly terms’ to Shepard...
If Preeya has been a squad mate in the most recent mission, an item referring to said mission can be seen being studied on her desk.
.
ME 3Preeya can be found in the War Room where she will revert back to her original function of keeping Shepard updated of new developments of any sort.
She can further be seen interacting with the most recent new crewmembers in the room depending on each mission.
If those are squadmates from earlier games, they will catch up.
If Preeya is around during the Rannoch story arc and Shepard punches Han’Gerrel, Preeya can be seen giving Shepard an acknowledging (complementing) nod.______________________________________________________________________________________
